Christies Beach real estate agency - plan for easing restrictions

Easing restrictions in SA

On Monday last week, we invited our customers to join our staff, in sending through questions in regards to the easing COVID-19 restrictions in South Australia from a real estate customers point of view.

As a team, we discussed many aspects of how we will operate our business moving forward.

Opens/Auctions

We will now be conducting open inspections on properties under the following conditions. Open inspections for sales or rentals on tenanted properties are to be 1 on 1 private inspections by appointment only. For vacant properties, a maximum of 10 people are permitted on the property, this includes the agent.

Routine Inspections

For those who are currently renting with us, you would have received a letter explaining that we have put a hold on any non-essential site visits. This includes routine inspections. Tenants are being instructed to provide detailed photos of specific areas of the property along with any maintenance required. The Property Managers will inspect those photos and our team will use this information to prepare a detailed report as normal and arrange any maintenance needed. Routine inspection notices are being sent as normal to advise tenants of upcoming inspection with further instructions.

Cash

We are still not taking cash in the office.Β Cash payments in the office have actually never been a payment option listed on our tenancy agreements, however to try and help and provide extra service to our tenants we had in the past accepted cash payments for the small amount of people who came in. We suggest the best form of payment is via online bank transfer to the account nominated on your tenancy agreement. If you still wish to make a cash payment you will need to do this at the bank into the nominated account rather than at our office.

Visitors

We have many vulnerable and immunocompromised people not only in our staff and families but also as tenants, landlords and suppliers and we need to ensure we do everything we can to ensure their safety while still carrying out our duties as managing agents of the property. We request if you need to speak to us, if possible please contact us via telephone or email, and only visit the office as a last resort if absolutely necessary. Please do not visit the office if you are sick or under isolation.
