Some of you may have already seen our post on Facebook sharing 2 news articles about the efforts made by the Professionals group to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). If not, I have put the links below for your convenience.
As one of the only 2 Diamond Partners with the NBCF, Professionals as a group have raised over $3 million for the NBCF. For every house sold through Professionals a portion of that fee is given to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, as well as individual fundraising events held by offices. Every October Professionals “Go Pink”, from our website to our offices in order to raise awareness.
Fundraising from the community is vital as researchers are often forced to compete with each other to receive funds from the limited Australian budget. The National Breast Cancer Foundation, which is 100% community funded have set a goal to have zero deaths by 2030. According to the NBCF, 1 in 8 Australian women and 1 in 700 Australian men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Although the survival rate has improved, sadly 8 Australian women lose their lives every day to breast cancer.
