You may have already noticed that every agency has a different list of acceptable ID when applying for a rental property. Before you apply for a rental property it might pay to have a look at what ID is accepted with a few of your local agents. Check that you have what is required to make 100 points with each agency so that there are no surprises when it comes to lodging an application.

To give you a head start here is our list of the ID that we accept:

  • Own/owned own home (council or water rates notice) – 50 Points
  • Last 4 rent receipts (must have name, address and amount) – 50 Points
  • Driver’s Licence – 40 Points
  • Photo ID – 30 Points
  • Centrelink health care card/Pension card – 20 Points
  • 2 pay slips – 30 points
  • Centrelink income statement – 30 points
  • Passport – 30 Points
  • Routine/Outgoing condition reports – 10 Points
  • Two references from previous Landlord/Agents in writing – 10 Points
  • Current motor vehicle registration papers – 10 Points
  • Phone/Gas/Electricity accounts – 10 Points
  • Bank Statement (must have name and address) – 10 Points
  • Birth Certificate – 10 Points
  • Current Tenancy Agreement – 10 Points
