Introducing the 4th Biennial King of Canvas
A ‘shout-out’ to all aerosol artists and writers to submit their best pieces on canvas to be in the running to be the acclaimed 2015 King of Canvas.
The Kings (yep! that’s right, two Kings this year) both stencil and freestyle will also receive a cheque for $2,500 each and a metal sculpture as his or her trophy and to top it off including a People’s Choice award of $500.
This innovative and authentic art competition is open to all South Australian artists (citizens of Australia or permanent residents only).
The competition will culminate in the top 30-40 artworks touring several galleries across South Australia in what is described as an urban arts road show.
The City of Onkaparinga is excited to be able to offer both young and emerging artists and old school legends the opportunity to showcase their art in this quality art competition and exhibition.
As with the two previous ‘King of Canvases’ it is expected that with the large prize pool on offer, quality artworks from all over the state will be submitted and play a part in promoting this often misunderstood art form and raising the bar when it comes to gallery based aerosol art.
