Even in a booming property market there are still Australian suburbs with a median weekly rent under $200.
Statistics provided by CoreLogic RP Data for April show six Adelaide suburbs made the top 10 for most affordable to rent.
Rokeby in Hobart topped the list with an extremely low median weekly rent of $140, which was down from $243 in April 2014.
Also in Hobart, Primrose Sands recorded a median weekly rent of $190, down from $215 the previous year.
Smithfield Plains and Elizabeth Vale in Adelaide were next, with weekly median rents of $200.
This was up from $137 in April 2014 for Smithfield Plains and down $263 for Elizabeth Vale.
Davoren Park in Adelaide was not far behind, recording a median weekly rent of $201. This was down from $250 last year.
Lamb Island in Brisbane and Elizabeth Downs in Adelaide both posted weekly median rents of $210.
This was unchanged from April 2014 for Lamb Island, and was down from $250 for Elizabeth Downs.
Elizabeth South in Adelaide was next, recording a median weekly rent of $211, which was down from $250 last year.
Clarendon Vale in Hobart recorded a median weekly rent of $218, which was up marginally from $210.
Salisbury in Adelaide rounded out the top 10, recording a median weekly rent of $220, which was a drop from $280 in April last year.
