Five of Australia’s top 10 suburbs in terms of numbers of people searching for property per realestate.com.au listing are in Adelaide.
Parkside in Adelaide’s inner city took out first place for the third quarter in a row, while Norwood and Mitcham placed second and third.
St Peters and Burnside then came in sixth and seventh.
It’s quite a coup for South Australia and Adelaide when compared with the 2013 capital city property hotspots of Sydney and Perth, and it’s music to the ears for The Professionals property group.
“We keep telling people that Adelaide is Australia’s best kept property secret,” said Professionals CEO, Ted Piteo.
“The lifestyle of Adelaide offers wonderful opportunities for work-life balance, with less commuting time for work compared with Eastern States cities, and the beach is in such close proximity – not only city beaches but the wonderful Fleurieu and York Peninsulas.
“I think when national markets are extended to the point they are in Sydney for example, interstate investors sit up and take note of Adelaide’s affordability.
“I’m not surprised that investors are investigating opportunities here,” Mr Piteo said. “Our State Government has committed to creating more jobs for South Australia, highlighting this as a current priority. Stable economies certainly attract more confidence.”
