A lot of people have been asking “what is happening with the first home owners grant?” so just to clear the air we thought it would be advantageous to share this table from the Revenue SA website with you all.

So it is our understanding that if you are an eligible first home buyer and you sign a building contract before 31.12.13 you will be entitled to $15,000 and a further $8500. If you are an eligible first home buyer and you sign a building contract after 31.12.13 you will still be entitled to $15,000 but not the $8500.
If you are already a home owner and you sign a building contract before 31.12.13 you will be entitled to $8500 but not $15,000. If you are already a home owner and you sign a building contract after 31.12.13 you will not be entitled to any grants.
If you are an eligible first home buyer and you purchase an established home before 30.6.14 you will be entitled to $5000. If you are an eligible first home buyer and you purchase an established home after 30.6.14 you will not be entitled to any grants.
