Parkside was the most searched-for suburb in Australia in the last six months and four other South Australian suburbs made the quarterly national top ten, according to property website realestate.com.au
Walkerville, Norwood, Aldgate and Kensington Gardens secured spots three to six respectively.
Walkerville re-entered the list after falling out of the top sellers’ list in March.
The eastern suburbs dominated the South Australian top ten, which was made up of Parkside, Walkerville, Norwood, Aldgate, Kensington Gardens, Fullarton, Stonyfell, Brighton, Beaumont and Hyde Park.
The Professionals CEO Ted Piteo said he wasn’t surprised to see the eastern suburbs rate so well on the list. “There has always been something about the leafy eastern suburbs that has attracted people to want to live there,” Mr Piteo said.
“I think some of this is the open space from parklands in the region, the proximity to the city and the Adelaide Hills, the elevation of many of these areas which offer some views and generally, the style of housing and layout of the area.”
