The Noarlunga Aquatic Centre is situated at Seaman Road within the ‘recreation precinct’ of Noarlunga Centre adjacent to the cinema, ice skating rink, ten pin bowling facility and Council’s indoor recreation centre.
The Centre opened in 1991 and over this time the facility has needed to respond to evolving recreation and leisure trends and changing community demands that effect on the centre’s functionality.
The foyer, health and fitness area upgrade aims to provide a vibrant entrance, modern and functional reception space and expanded weights and fitness areas. In response to community and centre management feedback, this project will allow health class sizes to increase encouraging greater community access to this significant, regional facility.
The exciting new changes include:
- new fitness room
- expanded and improved outdoor fitness area
- modern cardio equipment
- new customer care service desk
- functional air conditioned reception area
The Centre will continue to remain open during construction works with measures in place to minimise disruption to facilities, programs and services.
Redevelopment works are planned to commence late May / early June and be completed by November 2013 to avoid peak seasonal times.
The centre will provide regular updates on its website www.noarlungalc.com.au, displays within the centre and through their newsletters.
