Professionals Real Estate Group has been recognised by the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) at the 2013 Patron’s Awards for championing breast cancer research for more than ten years.

2014 marks the Foundation’s 20th anniversary, and the ceremony acknowledged the efforts and contributions of individuals and organisations across Australia to further breast cancer research.

The Decade of Dedication award recognises the invaluable contribution made by Professionals Real Estate Group. The award was presented by Sarah Murdoch the Patron of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, On Seven at David Jones flagship Elizabeth Street store in Sydney.

“Professionals Real Estate Group has supported NBCF for more than 10 years. Each year Professionals Real Estate Group rallies its Members to fundraise and donate from properties sold,” said Carole Renouf, CEO of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

“In 1994, 30 per cent of women diagnosed with breast cancer passed away from the disease. In 20 years, this percentage has halved.”

“We could not have achieved this milestone without the support of Professionals Real Estate Group and other corporate and community supporters around Australia. However the work is far from over. With the support of NBCF-funded researchers, corporate and community supporters we will now be striving to accelerate the delivery of research results to reach our goal of zero deaths by 2030 and reduce the suffering caused by breast cancer,” said Ms Renouf.

Ian Cornell, Professionals Real Estate Group Chairman said “It is uplifting to recognise the survival rate has doubled, and these results positively tie in to the 2030 goal of zero deaths. This confirms the importance of our partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation.”

“I applaud and appreciate the efforts of all Professionals members across Australia who help this vital cause,” said Mr Cornell.

This year’s national awards ceremony recognised the significant achievement and contribution of 24 individuals from the Australian community, 4 researchers and 21 organisations.
